What are the responsibilities and job description for the Line Lead (2nd Shift) - Plastic Extrusion position at LEHVOSS North America?
Job Overview
The Line Lead is responsible for leading daily tasks and product manufacturing on their assigned extrusion line in a plastic compounding plant.
Our Line Lead can assess and identify out-of-spec conditions and products during all phases of production and are responsible for maintaining all records associated with manufacturing.
Our Line Lead will provide guidance to our Machine Operators.
Duties
- Guide and facilitate the work of your assigned Machine Operator.
- Lead extruder start-up procedures.
- Lead extruder set-up, extruder changeovers, and feeder set-ups.
- Start-up checklist procedures.
- Troubleshooting extrusion process as needed.
- Perform on-line quality testing.
- Perform shift transition tasks.
- Closing and re-staging of production work orders.
- The ability to stage and load raw materials while maintaining the integrity of the material, and without interrupting the flow of the raw materials.
- Follow all accepted work methods and comply with all relevant SOPs.
- Monitor machine performance to ensure the machine is running properly and producing quality output.
- While monitoring, record and report conditions of the product and process specifications to the supervisor(s) as needed.
- Demonstrate understanding of and compliance with all aspects of applicable ISO quality control standards.
- Assist with Auxiliary work (bagging, drying, grinding, tooling etc.)
- Identify tasks and complete tasks that need attention during down times.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Follow all safety protocols including the use of PPE.
Experience
1. Basic math skills equivalent to those of a high school graduate.
2. Ability to obtain LEHVOSS North America in-house forklift operator license.
3. The Line Lead must be available to work the second shift (2:00 PM-10:30 PM). Initial trainings will take place on first shift (7:00 AM-3:30 PM).
4. Must be able to wear PPE on their face and/or arms for long periods of time.
5. Ability to successfully complete the Machine Operator and Line Lead trainings within 3 months of hire.
6. Must be willing to relocate or reliably commute to Pawcatuck, CT upon accepting a job offer.
7. Must maintain attention to detail in all tasks.
