This Opportunity is for an Asphalt Paver Operator_DB with a work location in Carthage, MS.
General Summary
The primary duty of this position will be responsible for operating the paving machine and performing maintenance checks. The secondary responsibility of this role will be operating other paving equipment and supporting the crew by assisting with physical tasks as needed.

Perform daily safety and maintenance checks and advise the supervisor/shop of any requirements for maintenance or repairs.
Clean heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required and ensure equipment is safely and securely stored.
Read and understand field survey grades and elevations.
Follow instructions from foreman, leaders, managers, state DOT inspectors, auditors and officials
Education
High School Diploma, preferred
Work Experience
Road construction and paving experience or other commercial construction experience; thorough understanding of asphalt paving and roadway construction fundamentals; 1 year required.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Must have working knowledge of basic equipment maintenance.
Additional Requirements/Skills
18 years of age or older
Comply, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment
Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
Willingness to work overtime, nights and weekends as needed
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to climb, stand, walk, sit and use hands to operate the equipment. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms and assist. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This person may be tasked with physical demands such as shoveling/ raking/ sweeping asphalt material. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Work may entail visits to multiple sites in which person would be exposed to loud noise, dust, and odor.
