What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mascot Performer position at Lehigh Valley Phantoms?
We’re searching for the next superstar to be our mascot! 100% of our past performers have gone on to full-time roles in the NHL, making this a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, energy, professionalism, and drive.
Job Functions:
- Professionally represent the Lehigh Valley Phantoms and Lehigh Valley Spirits at games, appearances, and community events both in and out of costume.
- Work closely with the Senior Manager of Game Presentation to develop skits, on-ice elements, in-game activations, photo and autograph opportunities, and other game-day elements.
- Manage appearance requests and school program.
- Manage all mascot social media and content creation.
- Help create, plan, and execute skits pertaining to theme night, current pop culture, etc.
- Assist in preparation for the game.
- Communicate with Energy Team, Game Day Coordinator, and Game Presentation Director.
- Follow script to adhere to schedule.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the game day room, including props and other accessories.
- Embody the mascot character brand and represent the Lehigh Valley Phantoms & Spirits organizations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
18 years or older.
2-4 years of prior mascot experience.
Reliable transportation to the PPL Center or outside appearances.
Excellent communication skills.
General hockey knowledge and skating experience needed.
Comfortable to adjust on the fly.
Multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Outgoing personality to connect mascot with the community.
Available for all Phantoms and Spirits home games (nights, weekends, holidays).
Lift up to 30 lbs. and on feet for upwards of 5 hours.
