We are looking for a motivated Occupational, Music, Speech, and Art Therapists to join our integrated outpatient mental health clinic. The Therapist will treat consumers/clients through therapeutic use of day-to-day activities. They will help such individuals to recover or develop the necessary skills for their normal life. The aim is to improve the consumer’s ability to perform daily activities and valued life roles in the home, and at leisure and socially. The Therapist will also facilitate successful adaptations to disruptions in lifestyle and prevent losses of function and improve or maintain psychological status.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Reviews patient charts to ascertain important clinical information. Selects appropriate therapeutic assessment tools and methods to accurately determine the patient’s status for developing optimal treatment plans. Demonstrates effective clinical decision-making and implements changes/adaptations to the Treatment Plan when appropriate.
- Implements Treatment Plans and Protocol according to current professional and health system standards. Establishes achievable and appropriate treatment goals with patients and family. Selects appropriate technical aids/assistive devices and correctly refers patients to other clinical services to achieve stated program/team treatment goals. Assesses educational needs of patients, families, and implements a variety of methods for patient/family education and training during the rehabilitation process. Treatment plans should encompass comprehensive care based on a best practice model in each discipline.
- Completes all required documentation for patient care and reimbursement within prescribed timely manner as per department standards. Completes and plans all required documentation in the medical chart as required by clinic guidelines and regulatory requirements. Accurately records all treatment given including completion of the daily treatment record.
- Potentially supervise assigned students in the appropriate techniques, skills, and procedures. Demonstrates a genuine interest in assisting students in enhancing their knowledge and skill levels. Encourages positive learning experiences for Career Opportunity Students and other non-Fieldwork students.
- Actively engages other colleagues in clinical learning experiences. Is a mentor for clinical skill and OT knowledge acquisition for staff members. Pursues own area of interest and develops them into areas of expertise. Initiatives shown in assisting in organizational and structural duties when the Program Director of the clinic is not available. Demonstrates situational leadership in handling Clinic Specific Issues or concerns.
- Maintains a professional appearance and demonstrates appropriate professionalism during job performance.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Successful completion of FBI fingerprint (as required), PA Criminal Background Check, Child Abuse Clearance, Drug Screen, and complete a Physical
- Effective communication both oral and written
- Ability to work independently and be a competent team player
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND EXPERIENCE
- Master’s degree in occupational therapy 2 years
- Graduate of an accredited program
- Licensed in PA
- Experience working with adults with mental health disabilities is a plus
