Position Overview:
Lehigh Valley Academy (LVA) is seeking a student-centered Elementary School Social Worker with a holistic approach to support students in grades K–5. The ES Social Worker will provide structured programming for direct and indirect services to students and families to address social, emotional, and behavioral needs. This position also includes collaboration with the Middle and High School Social Workers to ensure continuity of care and support across all grade levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling to students in need of emotional, behavioral, or social support
- Work with teachers, administrators, and families to develop strategies and interventions that promote student success
- Researches and refers to outside support services and resources.
- Serve as a liaison between school, home, and community resources
- Conduct risk assessments and crisis intervention when necessary
- Support students and families through transitions and family challenges
- Contribute to the development and implementation of school-wide initiatives promoting student well-being
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with school policies and applicable laws
- Collaborate with the K–12 social work team to align practices and promote a continuum of support
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited institution
- Valid Pennsylvania School Social Worker certification or eligibility
- Experience working in a school setting preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children, families, educators, and community partners
Salary : $58,000
