What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Electro-Mechanical Technician - FT - 2nd Shift position at Lehigh Northampton Airport Authority?
Essential Functions
- Diagnose/Repair: Electrical and mechanical equipment. Including single and 3phase ranging from 24-volt DC to 480-volt AC systems, VFD motor control systems, lighting fixtures, Install wiring, electrical and mechanical equipment
- Replace/repair and align mechanical components such as motors, gearboxes, belts, bearings, gears
- Interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical blueprints
- Perform all tasks and system upgrades through work order system
- Knowledge of PLC and control theory
- Work with contractors and engineers and other team members on construction and repair projects
- Operates snow and ice removal equipment and applies chemicals and other ice control products
- Class “A” Maintenance Technicians assist Master Maintenance Technicians within a specific craft/ skill. Class “A” Maintenance Technicians will be expected to perform any and all duties of Maintenance “B”, “C” Technicians, and Custodian when needed.
- Must have an intermediate skill level in at least one additional craft, as designated by the Authority, in painting, carpentry, automotive mechanic, air conditioning, electrical, mill right, diesel mechanic, heating, or heavy equipment operation, within one year of hire.
Additional Responsibilities
- Adhere to national and local electrical codes, safety regulations, and building standards to ensure safe and functional systems.
- Have proficiency with electrical/mechanical hand tools, power tools and testing devices, multimeters, megohm meters, ammeters.
- Perform routine inspections on all equipment to ensure equipment is in top working order and record inspection and maintenance of equipment according to LNAA guidelines.
- Work independently and perform as a leader to other maintenance personnel in accomplishing necessary tasks as assigned.
- Possess the National electrical code master license within 2 years
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Optional – eligible to work the “on-call” schedule, but must commit to a one- year period
Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Must pass skill level testing administered by contracted agency.
- Possess knowledge of Uniform Construction Codes.
- Possess the necessary level of knowledge, skills and abilities either through education and/or experience; a minimum of five (5) years of experience.
- PC skills to include Word, Excel, Outlook and other applicable computer programs.
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
- CDL License Preferred.
Must-Have Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must possess a working knowledge of safety practices and procedures to perform facility repairs, including light duty carpentry, electrical, and plumbing.
- Must wear provided uniforms (uniforms must be clean and presentable) and personal protective equipment.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license that meets insurance requirements
- Must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays when required.
- Successfully pass continual training, security and employment requirements
- Must possess acceptable English language skills to include speaking, reading, writing and comprehension.
- Ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance; stoop, kneel and crouch or crawl.
- Must be able to work in a confined space.
- Must be able to use hands and fingers to type, handle bags, boxes, objects or controls.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and occasionally lift up to 99 pounds with assistance.
- Vision abilities include, with or without corrective lenses, close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Sufficient auditory ability, with or without audiological devices, to decipher telephone/radio communications, interact with the public and others, decipher radio communications, and hear alarms, including vehicle and other warning signals.
- Able to tolerate exposure to noise levels up to 150 decibels at times, hearing protection is provided and optional.
- Able and willing to work in inclement weather, including extreme cold and warm temperatures.
