Qualifications/Certification
- High School Graduate
- A current Pennsylvania Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- First Aid/CPR/AED Certification
Responsibilities
- Aid Health Officer in providing care for students and staff, First Aid, etc.
- Apply appropriate nursing theory and evidence-based practices as the basis for decision making in the school setting.
- Inform classroom teachers, when necessary, of the disposition of ill or injured students.
- Secure and administer medication to students in accordance with LCTI's procedures.
- Assist the Health Officer in establishing and/or maintaining each student's health record.
- Correspond with parents and health care providers on the health needs of the students, as directed.
- Assist the Health Officer in the maintenance of the health room facility.
- Be willing to learn and to perform new procedures as they become necessary in the care of students with special needs and/or medically fragile students.
- Understands and adheres to the principles of confidentiality.
- Accompany ill or injured students to hospital as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the administrator
