What are the responsibilities and job description for the Guitar Teacher position at Lehi School of Music?
We’re looking for a passionate and dedicated Guitar Teacher to join our growing team of 20 talented music educators. With hundreds of students and rapid expansion across our schools, this is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact in a thriving musical community.
The ideal candidate will bring both skill and heart — someone who fosters a positive, encouraging environment for students of all ages and experience levels through one-on-one private lessons. You’ll design creative lesson plans, apply effective teaching methods, and help each student grow musically and personally.
School Hours:
Our schools typically operate weekdays from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. We’ll work with your schedule to find the perfect consistent fit.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging one-on-one guitar lessons that inspire learning and creativity.
- Tailor instruction to meet each student’s unique goals, interests, and abilities.
- Encourage performance, confidence, and musical growth through supportive feedback.
- Maintain open communication with students, parents, and staff to ensure successful outcomes
- Assess student progress and communicate this effectively with parents
- Foster a welcoming, professional, and fun learning environment.
- Commit to a consistent weekly work schedule to provide the best consistency and value for the students
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in guitar performance and teaching methods.
- Experience working with children, teens, and adults in educational or instructional settings.
- Knowledge of music theory, technique, and performance practices (composition skills are a plus).
- ability to teach other instruments like beginner piano or drums is a plus.
- A creative, patient, and energetic approach to teaching.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Prior teaching experience preferred, but not required for the right candidate.
