SENIOR CENTER AIDE
CLOSING DATE: Open until Filled
PAY RATE: $12.66 - $15.19 (depending on qualifications)
SCHEDULE: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday - 9:30 am to 1:30 pm
DEPARTMENT: Recreation
JOB SUMMARY
Performs a variety of general duties as needed for the Senior Center.
- Prepares facility for daily lunches and other events; receives and prepares food for serving daily lunches.
- Talks with and greets Senior Citizen patrons at meals and activities.
- Receives orders and deliveries; assists in organizing and storing materials and supplies.
- Help keep track of inventory & makes sure it is adequate.
- Receives telephone calls and walk-in public; responds to questions regarding various programs and services; direct callers to appropriate personnel as needed.
- Help to prepare for rentals by setting up and taking down tables and chairs.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduation from high school or equivalent AND sufficient experience to demonstrate an aptitude or ability to perform above and related duties OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Have a current Food Handler's permit.
- Are First Aid and CPR Certified.
- Have some knowledge of food preparation and serving.
- Experience with cash handling.
- Have interpersonal communication skills.
- Have knowledge of and follow safety, sanitation, and gerontology standards.
- May be required to lift up to approximately 25 pounds.
