Maintenance Mechanic

GENERAL PURPOSE

This position requires that the employee be responsible for maintaining and repairing machinery throughout the plant. This role is full-time onsite in Warsaw, IN.

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all machinery throughout the plant.
• Maintain and repair plumbing and electric throughout the plant.
• Prioritize the order in which to complete the tasks.
• Gain an understanding of the machines in each department.
• Make sure materials are readily available for the job.
• Update all completed work in the correct system and schedule.
• Assist in other plant operations.
• Complete clean-up responsibilities and maintain workstation according to 5S procedure
• Perform work at or above pre-established performance objectives
• Understand workplace hazards and take steps to proactively prevent and report hazards or injuries in the workplace. Cooperate in safety programs, initiatives, and investigations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, BOM's and associated procedures
• Ability to follow directions
• Flexibility and willingness to adapt to frequently changing priorities/tasks
• Possess a mechanical aptitude
• Ability to identify and communicate basic process improvements
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Proven reliability - attendance and punctuality
• Experience with 450-volt equipment and systems

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

• Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED with a minimum of two (2) years' experience with facility maintenance in a manufacturing environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for 8 hours/day while making coordinated movements of the hands and fingers to grasp/pinch and manipulate objects. This may include frequent use of vibrating/pneumatic tools, overhead and outstretched reaching with arms, bending/twisting/stooping, kneeling/squatting and frequently lifting/carrying up to 40 lbs. throughout the day and occasionally up to 70 lbs. as needed. Also, may occasionally include pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs.
• May occasionally be exposed to dust and spray fumes and noise
• Regular shop assembly/distribution center environment (no air conditioning)
• Steel-toed shoes are required for working in this position
