We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Purchasing & Logistics Specialist to execute purchasing, inventory planning, vendor coordination, and domestic and international logistics.
This is a key position responsible for ensuring our products arrive on time, inventory levels remain optimized, and our customers receive exceptional service.
Responsibilities
- Execute purchasing of raw materials, chemicals, packaging, and finished goods from domestic and international suppliers.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound domestic and international shipments.
- Relationship management of freight providers including UPS, FedEx, LTL, ocean, and air freight.
- Monitor inventory levels and maintain appropriate stock based on forecasts and customer demand.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and purchasing terms with suppliers.
- Issue purchase orders and monitor supplier performance.
- Track shipments and proactively resolve delays or logistics issues.
- Coordinate imports, customs documentation, and international freight.
- Work closely with Sales, Customer Service, Production, and Accounting to ensure timely order fulfillment.
- Analyze inventory trends and implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Maintain accurate purchasing, inventory, and vendor records within the ERP system.
- Develop and improve purchasing and logistics processes.
- Assist with forecasting and supply chain planning.
- Ensure compliance with shipping regulations, hazardous material requirements, and company policies.
- Bachelor’s degree or certification in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or equivalent experience preferred.
- 3 years of purchasing, supply chain, logistics, or inventory management experience.
- Experience with international vendors and imports.
- Strong negotiation and vendor communication skills.
- Experience using ERP systems (Sage X3 experience is a plus).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding communication and follow-up skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
