What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laborer/Painter position at Legion Industrial Equipment?
The Automotive Paint Laborer supports the paint department by preparing components for painting, assisting painters, and ensuring a clean, safe, and efficient work environment. This is an entry-level position with opportunities to grow into a skilled automotive painter role.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting by sanding, masking, cleaning, and priming
- Assist painters with mixing paints, staging materials, and maintaining equipment
- Move vehicles or parts in and out of paint booths as needed
- Clean and maintain spray booths, tools, and work areas
- Remove masking materials and perform basic finishing tasks after painting
- Identify surface imperfections and report issues prior to painting
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and handling of chemicals
- Dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with company and regulatory guidelines
- Support team members with general shop duties as assigned
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
