What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mill Operator position at Leggett Dynamics?
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Checks consistency of dropped batches and alerts supervisor of any poorly mixed batches
- Maintains a steady stream of rubber from the dump mill to the calender box
- Adjusts water valves and nip gap on dump and strip mills to ensure proper rubber adhesion to front bowl
- Keeps conveyor belts and belt rollers clear of any excess rubber
- Retrieves tails from Line 2 calender and places them back onto strip mill
- Has a working knowledge of the safety devices on the mills and calender
- Assists the calender operator when needed
- Keeps work area clean and free of safety hazards
- Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities related to product, process and the system
- Control further processing, delivery, or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected
