Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and menu specifications, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, slicers, and other culinary tools.
- Follow food safety standards meticulously, managing proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.
- Assist in menu planning by providing input on ingredient selection and preparation techniques to enhance meal offerings.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by cleaning workstations, utensils, appliances, and ensuring compliance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and serving times, ensuring timely delivery of orders.
- Support catering events or special meal requests by preparing large quantities of food while adhering to recipe guidelines and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated food preparation skills with knowledge of cooking techniques and knife skills including slicing methods.
- Experience operating commercial kitchen equipment safely and effectively.
- Strong understanding of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production environments.
- Proven ability to follow recipes accurately while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
