THE ROLE
The Group Sales Manager is primarily responsible for sourcing, managing, and retaining a team of Group Sales Account Executives and overseeing designated clients within the public and/or tourism space on a year-round basis. The primary focus of this role will provide dedicated service to the team and their assigned business channels and to develop the current and continued group revenue streams for the attraction. This position will prospect and support prospecting through a highly proactive approach including outbound calls and face-to-face appointments. This includes upselling new and existing products to improve the client experience and cultivating referrals and leads. This individual will also assist the team on a day-to-day basis by supporting ongoing communications with various parts of the business.
ESSENTIAL DUTES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Achieve monthly & yearly ticket and revenue targets set forth by management
- Hire, train, develop and manage a Group Sales Account Executive staff
- Prepare and provide required reports including revenue reports, profit and loss statements, sales recaps, and projections
- Provide superior service to current clients, partners, and prospects, including managing the booking process from lead generation to reservation, invoicing, payment and ticket fulfillment
- Retain and grow business through consistent communication by phone, face-to-face/virtual meetings, and e-mail
- Develop client relationships to ensure long-term business
- Generate new sales leads and support team lead generation through self-prospecting, current client networks, and other company provided resources
- Proactively create opportunities for new business with targeted internal or external events, other programming, and theme days.
- Develop and execute promotional campaigns (including e-blasts and direct mailers) during key booking periods
- Aid in department growth with new efficiencies and operating procedures
- Upsell added-value products and contribute to the creation of additional upsells
- Keep up on industry and/or tourism related trends that may affect and benefit volume and revenue
- Respond in a timely manner to calls, inquiries and emails
- Maintain detailed and comprehensive records via CRM and ticketing software
- Attend networking events, tradeshows and sales missions as needed to support team in building a book of business that will ultimately lead to ticket sales and revenue opportunities
- Develop and maintain strong working relationship with internal team and management as well as with corporate leadership
- Non-traditional hours (nights, weekends & holidays as necessary)
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all Legends & ASM policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 1-2 years management experience
- 2-3 years experience in sales/group sales; attractions, theme park, sports or entertainment experience preferred
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to travel and work non-traditional hours when necessary
- Natural leader seeking to manage and coach a team as well as create an enjoyable sales culture/environment
- Committed to success with a desire to excel within a team environment
- Able to simultaneously manage a high level of detail across multiple projects

- Experience with Salesforce is a plus
- Bilingual a plus
- Familiarity with New York metropolitan market

COMPENSATION
Salary Range: $70,000-$75,000 Commission
Competitive salary, commensurate with experience, and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401k plan.
