Duties

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Offer Clinical Supervision to staff
• Deliver individual, group, family, and youth therapy sessions using modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, trauma-focused therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and behavior management techniques.
• Implement evidence-based interventions including motivational interviewing, applied behavior analysis (ABA), grief counseling, addiction counseling, and crisis intervention strategies to support clients across various mental health challenges.
• Develop personalized treatment plans aligned with clinical documentation standards and medical records protocols while maintaining HIPAA compliance for patient confidentiality.
• Provide crisis management and crisis intervention services for clients experiencing acute mental health episodes or co-occurring disorders.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including social workers, medical professionals, educators, and case managers—to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes.
• Document all clinical encounters accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems following clinical documentation standards and medical terminology guidelines.
• Engage in ongoing clinical research and data collection to enhance treatment efficacy and contribute to best practices in mental health care.
• Offer telehealth therapy sessions utilizing secure platforms to increase access for clients with mobility or transportation barriers.
• Support clients with special needs such as developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder through tailored behavioral therapies and specialized interventions.

Qualifications

• Valid licensure as a Mental Health Therapist (e.g., LPC, LMFT, LCSW) with active state certification to practice independently.
• Strong knowledge of psychotherapeutic modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, trauma-focused approaches, art therapy, dance therapy, and evidence-based practices.
• Familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems for diagnostic evaluation and medical documentation standards.
• Experience working with individuals with co-occurring disorders or developmental disabilities; knowledge of special education needs is preferred.
• Proficiency in crisis management techniques and crisis intervention strategies for acute mental health episodes.
• Excellent client communication skills coupled with a compassionate approach to patient care.
• Ability to utilize EMR/EHR systems effectively while adhering to HIPAA regulations for confidentiality and security of medical records.
• Telehealth experience is desirable; comfort working in virtual environments is essential for expanding access to care.
• Knowledge of medical terminology related to mental health conditions and psychopharmacology is advantageous.
