Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive patient care across diverse healthcare settings. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Cerner or Epic.
- Administer medications and injections with precision, including IV infusions and medication management in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform specialized procedures such as suturing, catheterization, tube feeding, and ventilator management while maintaining aseptic technique.
- Monitor patients in various settings including ICU, telemetry units, emergency rooms, or long-term care facilities; respond swiftly to acute pain or trauma incidents.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams on diagnostic evaluations, treatment plans, discharge planning, and case management strategies.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and safety standards across all patient care activities.
- Document all nursing interventions accurately within EMR/EHR systems like Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks to maintain comprehensive medical records.
- Provide education and support to patients and families regarding health coaching, medication administration, and post-discharge care instructions.
Qualifications
- Valid registered nurse licensure in the relevant state or country with current CPR/BLS certification.
- Proven experience in diverse clinical environments such as critical care (ICU), emergency medicine, hospital medicine, or long-term care settings.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Cerner or Epic; familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical terminology essential for accurate patient assessment.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities; knowledge of behavioral health and dementia care is advantageous.
- Ability to perform complex procedures such as phlebotomy, laboratory specimen collection/processing, and sterile dressing changes.
- Excellent communication skills coupled with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced environments like trauma centers or urgent care clinics.
- Additional certifications in specialized areas such as neonatal resuscitation (NRP), trauma medicine, or hospice & palliative care are desirable but not mandatory.
