What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chemical Extraction Specialist position at Legend Technical Services, Inc.?
Legend Technical Services, Inc. (LEGEND) legend-group.com is seeking an individual to perform sample preparation in our organic extraction laboratory . Successful candidate should have a BS in chemistry or science field, familiarity with chemical laboratories, and the ability to work with chemicals under the auspices of our chemical hygiene program using appropriate personal protective equipment and exhaust ventilation. LEGEND has a comprehensive QA program with established methodologies and provides work specific training prior to the individual doing client work in the laboratory. This is an entry level position that requires strict adherence to established SOPs. Prior experience in the laboratory performing sample preparation and wet chemistry is beneficial but not essential as this position is entry level and you will be working with someone else with more experience under the direction of experienced chemists.
LEGEND is amenable to a flexible 40 hour a week schedule that works with our policy of not allowing individuals to work by themselves in the laboratory. There is opportunity for advancement in the laboratory with time and aptitude. LEGEND has a comprehensive medical and dental program, 401K with matching funds, and 3 weeks paid time off the first year of employment. The position does require some lifting and dexterity and the ability to stand to complete tasks. The position pays hourly and there can be some overtime involved.
