Role Description The Financial Controller is a full-time, on-site role based in the New York City Metropolitan Area. This role oversees day-to-day financial operations, including maintaining the general ledger, preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. The Financial Controller manages budgeting and forecasting processes, monitors cash flow, and supports strategic financial planning for project portfolios and overall studio operations. Responsibilities include overseeing accounting activities such as accounts payable and receivable, payroll coordination, expense tracking, and compliance with relevant tax and regulatory requirements. - Experience preparing and analyzing Financial Statements and Financial Reporting for internal stakeholders and external compliance purposes.
- Demonstrated Analytical Skills for budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and project-based financial analysis.
- Knowledge of relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal control frameworks.
- Advanced skills in financial and accounting software (e.g., ERP systems, Excel), and comfort working with data and reports.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent professional certification is a plus.
- Prior experience as a Financial Controller or in a senior accounting/finance role, ideally within professional services, design, construction, or related industries.
- Ability to work on-site, manage multiple deadlines, communicate clearly with non-financial stakeholders, and maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
