LegaSea Aquarium & The Reptarium Michigan’s premier 30,000-square-foot, ZAA-accredited interactive zoo and aquarium in Utica, MI is seeking a dedicated, energetic Guest Services Representative to join our team.
Are you looking for an entry-level job working with animals and people? We are hiring an enthusiastic Guest Services Associate to join our hands-on, interactive zoo team!
In this role, you will be the face of our zoo’s customer service experience welcoming visitors, guiding interactive animal encounters, and helping guests of all ages learn about wildlife in a safe, fun, and engaging environment. No prior experience is required we provide full training. If you have a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a passion for animals and education, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service & Hospitality: Greet guests warmly, answer questions, and create a welcoming, high-energy atmosphere for families and tour groups.
- Interactive Animal Encounters: Facilitate safe, hands-on interactions between visitors and featured zoo animals.
- Guest Education: Share fun, approachable facts about animal behaviors, diets, habitats, and wildlife conservation.
- Crowd Flow & Operations: Assist with exhibit navigation, interactive stations, ticket check-ins, and guest queue management.
- Safety & Protocol Enforcement: Maintain guest safety and strictly adhere to all animal-handling and facility protocols.
- Facility Upkeep: Ensure public areas, exhibit spaces, and interactive stations remain clean, organized, and presentable.
Qualifications & Requirements
- No experience required comprehensive on-the-job training provided.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Friendly, outgoing personality with a customer-first mindset.
- Comfortable working in proximity to a wide variety of animals.
- Ability to stand, walk, and engage with guests outdoors or in exhibit spaces for extended periods.
- Reliable transportation and punctual attendance.
- Weekend and holiday availability (preferred).
