Remote-first

Since March 2020, our Zoomers have worked remotely and reported an overall better work-life balance with more time for family and personal wellness. At the end of 2021, LegalZoom made the official commitment to being a remote-first company. Remote-first means that there is no expectation that Zoomers come into an office for a fixed number of days outside of those employees identified as essential onsite workers. While we remain a remote-first culture, our local offices have evolved as collaboration spaces for Zoomers to meet and engage in person. This position will be: Austin, SF Bay Area, LA (in order of preference)
Overview

We are seeking an experienced sales leader to join our organization as the Vice President of Sales in a tech-forward organization. In this role, you will be responsible for managing an internal sales organization of 100 team members and overseeing an external partner sales organization of a similar size. Our goal is to provide our customers with the right products and services to empower them to make their dreams a reality, and we prioritize customer satisfaction and retention rates as key metrics of success. The ideal candidate will have a strong sales background with a particular emphasis on customer experience and SMBs in service of their success, as well as a deep understanding of both outbound and inbound sales methodologies. The individual will have a proven track record of success using an analytical approach to understand how to scale a sales organization delivering curated experiences for different cohorts of customers. The individual should also have extensive experience partnering cross functionally with tech, marketing, operations etc. prioritizing customer experience while driving bookings.

You will

  • Manage and lead a sales organization consisting of 100 LegalZoom full-time sales employees
  • Oversee an external partner sales organization of a similar size, ensuring effective collaboration and alignment, achievement of goals/targets, and consistency in customer experience
  • Develop and execute strategies to achieve sales targets while maintaining a strong focus on customer experience and satisfaction
  • Drive customer-centric sales approaches, emphasizing building long-term relationships rather than transactional sales
  • Implement and refine sales compensation incentive plans to motivate and reward the sales team
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including tech, product, marketing, operations, and customer success to to deliver an improved and cohesive customer experience
  • Foster an inclusive culture of continuous improvement, providing coaching and mentorship to enhance sales performance
  • Utilize extensive inbound sales experience to drive effective lead generation and conversion strategies
  • Monitor market trends and competitive landscape, identifying opportunities for growth and potential risks
  • Consistently measure, set targets against, and monitor performance of business and take action to ensure company and team goals are achieved: revenue, cancellations, attach, retention, customer satisfaction

You have

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in sales leadership roles, with a focus on successfully implementing both inbound and outbound sales strategies
  • Proven track record of success in sales leadership roles in a tech-forward industry
  • Extensive experience managing and leading an internal sales organization, as well as working with third-party outsourced agents
  • Strong knowledge and experience in building customer relationships based on trust and long-term value
  • Deep expertise in analytics with the ability to analyze sales data and market trends to drive informed decision-making
  • Experience in designing and implementing sales compensation incentive plans.
  • Background in SMB sales, with a focus on average order value (AOV)
  • Familiarity with auto dialers is desirable, but not essential
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred
  • Frequent travel required TX, CA

LegalZoom is a remote-first company and the national range for this role is ($189,000 -300,000). Actual compensation offered will depend on several factors including but not limited to: geographic location, work experience, education, skill level, and/or other business and organizational needs. In addition, an annual bonus, incentive bonus and/or restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package.

For onsite roles or roles that require periodic onsite visits, LegalZoom requires all employees to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 before starting work, unless precluded from doing so by applicable law. The CDC currently defines “fully vaccinated” as two weeks after the second dose for Pfizer and Moderna, and two weeks after the single dose of Johnson & Johnson. LegalZoom will require proof of vaccination before a successful applicant’s first day of work, and will consider requests for exemption from this requirement during the offer phase (1) as a reasonable accommodation for medical reasons or sincerely held religious beliefs where the accommodation would not LegalZoom undue hardship or pose a direct threat to the health and safety of others, or (2) for other reasons under applicable law.
