What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lien Resolution Specialist position at Legal Support?
We are a prominent Hudson Valley-based law firm seeking to hire a (Full Time) Lien Resolution Specialist for our Newburgh office.
The ideal candidate will provide administrative and case support to our legal team and must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Essential Functions
- Setting up claims with Medicare, Medicaid, Health Recovery and other lien holders.
- Maintain accurate and timely follow ups and enter the received information into the system
- Receive and properly handle incoming Emails, System messages, Faxes and incoming calls and act according to importance and urgency.
- Expedite attorney’s request when dealing with time sensitive matters.
- Conduct follow up phone calls to ensure completeness of requests and timely retrievals.
- Be able to interact and work with multiple departments within our system (Attorney, Case Managers, Bookkeeping, Closing Department, Legal departments).
- Finalize and negotiate liens.
Qualifications
- High school graduate with 3 to 5 years of experience in Personal Injury law and medical experience; or
- Associates' degree with 2 to 3 years professional office experience; or
- Bachelor's degree with a legal background; and
- Prior work experience in Personal Injury Law, No-Fault law, medical and billing (prior experience is a must).
Skills and Abilities
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Excellent telephone etiquette, written, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of No-Fault billing laws and understanding of medical legal terminology
- Basic understanding of databases
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Ability to type 35 wpm
- Bi-lingual a plus
