Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role based in Chicago, IL, for a Science Teacher at Legal Prep Charter Academy. The Science Teacher will design and deliver engaging and rigorous science lessons to students, fostering critical thinking and a passion for scientific inquiry. Responsibilities include creating lesson plans aligned with academic standards, assessing student performance, providing individualized support, and integrating real-world applications into the curriculum. In addition, the teacher will participate in school events, collaborate with fellow educators, and contribute to the professional growth and success of students.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in science instruction, curriculum development, and classroom management
- Strong skills in fostering critical thinking, inquiry-based learning, and scientific literacy
- Ability to create an inclusive, respectful, and culturally responsive learning environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to engage and motivate students
- Collaboration skills to work effectively with colleagues, administration, and the wider school community
- Ability to utilize technology effectively to enhance teaching and learning
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, or a related field; teaching certification or licensure required
- Previous teaching experience, preferably in secondary education, is a plus
