Position Overview

Legal Prep Charter Academy is seeking a Culture Specialist who is deeply committed to building and maintaining a joyful, structured, and student-centered school culture. Reporting directly to the Assistant Principal of Culture, the Culture Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring that Legal Prep remains a safe, restorative, and high-expectations learning environment for all students.

The Culture Specialist will support the daily implementation of schoolwide culture systems, respond to student behaviors with consistency and care, and build strong relationships with students, families, and staff to ensure all students are supported academically, socially, and behaviorally. This role requires a strong belief in restorative practices, student accountability, and leading with relationships.

Key Responsibilities

The Culture Specialist will support and contribute to a broad range of school culture systems and responsibilities, including but not limited to the following:

Student Culture and Behavior Support • Support the implementation of schoolwide culture systems aligned to Legal Prep’s mission and values • Reinforce student expectations and uphold consistent behavior systems across all grade levels • Respond to and de-escalate student behaviors in classrooms, hallways, common spaces, and during transitions • Remove and support students whose behavior is disrupting learning and facilitate restorative next steps • Monitor and support students removed from class for behavioral, emotional, or academic disengagement concerns • Assist in implementing restorative interventions, mediations, re-entry conversations, and behavior reflection processes • Help facilitate behavior accountability systems, including detention, restorative consequences, student reflection, and family communication • Support the creation and execution of student behavior plans and interventions in partnership with school leaders and support staff

Schoolwide Operations and Supervision • Support arrival, breakfast, hallway transitions, lunch, dismissal, and other key supervision points throughout the school day • Ensure strong visibility and active supervision across the building to maintain safety and order • Assist with escorting students, responding to support calls, and maintaining calm and efficient transitions • Support school events, incentive systems, assemblies, and culture-building initiatives • Monitor student movement and ensure systems are followed consistently across the building

Student and Family Engagement • Build strong, transformational relationships with students grounded in trust, accountability, and high expectations • Partner with families through phone calls, conferences, and follow-up communication regarding student behavior and support plans • Support students in developing self-awareness, conflict resolution skills, and accountability for their choices • Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure students receive consistent messaging and aligned support

Data and Administrative Responsibilities • Document student incidents and interventions clearly and consistently • Support behavior tracking systems, internal logs, and student culture data reporting • Monitor behavior trends and share key insights with the Assistant Principal of Culture • Assist with student reflections, parent communication, documentation, and follow-up related to behavior incidents • Support the implementation and progress monitoring of student behavior plans and restorative systems

Minimum Qualifications

  • Belief that all students, regardless of background or current performance, can succeed in school and life • Strong belief in restorative practices, student accountability, and high expectations • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with students and families • Experience working with youth in schools, community organizations, youth development, or similar settings • Ability to manage high-pressure situations with professionalism and composure • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Eligibility to work in the United States on a full-time basis • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or at least three years of comparable experience in education, youth development, school culture, behavior support, or related fields

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working in schools serving historically underserved communities • Experience with restorative practices, student behavior systems, and youth coaching • Experience supporting school culture, behavior intervention, or dean-style responsibilities • Familiarity with behavior documentation systems, student support plans, and family engagement practices

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
