Senior Legal Counsel

Legal.io is working with a leading chemical science company who is hiring a Senior Legal Counsel to support a wide variety of products.

This is a full-time position (40hrs/week) for 3-months, with the opportunity to convert into a permanent role.

This role does require 2 - 3 days per week onsite in the Wilmington, Delaware metro

Scope of Work

Title: Senior Legal Counsel (temp-to-perm)

Experience: 10 Years

Location: Hybrid - Wilmington, DE metro

Hours: 40 Hours / Week

Duration: 3 Months, then convert into FTE

Pay Rate: $100 - $120 / hr ($200,000 - $240,000 annualized)

Job description:

Responsibilities

• The Client is seeking a senior legal counsel to provide end-to-end legal leadership across a diverse portfolio of four distinct products, including clean energy, bioprocessing and medical devices, composting solutions, and musical equipment.
• As legal counsel, you'll deliver proactive legal guidance across commercial transactions, IP, and regulatory matters.
• Commercial Counseling: Own and elevate commercial contracting as a primary growth lever, designing deal structures, contracting frameworks, and negotiation strategies that accelerate revenue, support scalable partnerships, and improve speed to market.
• Guide leadership teams through complex, high-stakes decisions by integrating commercial, intellectual property, and regulatory considerations into clear, actionable legal advice
• Lead patent and trademark strategy to protect differentiated innovation and align intellectual property investments with business growth priorities
• Provide forward-looking legal counsel across trade, EH&S, sustainability, data privacy, and regulated environments, including bioprocessing and medical devices, enabling responsible global expansion

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
• 10 YOE, including demonstrated leadership of high-impact commercial, IP, and regulatory matters.
• Experience in the areas of clean energy, life sciences, bioprocessing, medical devices, industrial technologies, or branded consumer products is a strong nice-to-have.
