Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal counsel across various areas including estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, family law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, personal injury law, employment law, and general & commercial litigation.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and legal documents to ensure clarity, compliance, and risk mitigation.
- Prepare for and participate in court depositions, trial preparations, and legal motions to support litigation efforts.
- Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to inform case strategies and ensure adherence to procedural laws.
- Manage legal case files efficiently using case management systems while maintaining meticulous records of all proceedings.
- Communicate effectively with clients to explain legal options, progress updates, and strategic recommendations.
- Assist in statutory legal research and stay current on evolving laws and regulations relevant to the organization’s operations.
- Support the legal team in administrative tasks including scheduling court appearances and coordinating with external counsel when necessary.
- May work from come, remote, or online and in office.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, family law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, personal injury case experience, criminal lawemployment law case experience, and workers' compensation law.
- Proven ability in negotiation and legal advocacy to achieve favorable outcomes for clients or the organization.
- Strong research skills utilizing LexisNexis and Westlaw for statutory analysis and case law development.
- Proficiency in legal drafting—including contracts—and motion preparation for court proceedings.
- Experience with litigation processes such as trial preparation and court depositions.
- Excellent written communication skills for clear legal writing and documentation.
- Effective client communication skills to explain complex legal concepts clearly and professionally.
- Familiarity with procedural laws governing civil litigation procedures across jurisdictions.
- Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience working within a law office setting or in general & commercial litigation is highly desirable.
