Required Experience and Qualifications
- Demonstrated administrative experience and strong secretarial skills.
- Experience and proficiency using computer systems, including word processing, email, calendaring software, and Microsoft Office applications in a Windows environment.
- Ability to relate effectively with low-income individuals; demonstrated dependability, professionalism, and integrity; and a clear commitment to legal services and serving low-income communities.
- Demonstrated familiarity with computer systems and software used for effective case management and delivery of legal services through telecommunications, internet, and network systems.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, including effective telephone communication and clear written and oral communication.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and initiative and to maintain the confidential nature of the firm and its practice.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a multi-function office environment.
- Fluency in Spanish (oral and written) is preferred but not required.
- Prior experience working in a law office or public service setting is a plus.
- This position requires travel to LAWO’s Defiance office on an as-needed basis; therefore, candidates with a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and the ability to maintain automobile insurance throughout employment are preferred.
