Your Role as Grants & Compliance Specialist
As LASP’s Grants & Compliance Specialist (GCS), you will play a critical role in ensuring the organization meets all grant and contract requirements. Reporting to the Director for Operations, you will oversee compliance, reporting, and performance tracking across federal, state, and local funding sources.
You will collaborate closely with attorneys, leadership, and administrative teams while serving as a key liaison to external funders.
Key Responsibilities
Grants & Compliance Management
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date grant records and ensure compliance with all funding requirements
- Track reporting deadlines and ensure timely submission of all grant deliverables
- Manage logistics for monitoring visits and compliance reviews by funders
Data & Reporting
- Utilize LASP’s case management system (LegalServer) to track performance and generate reports
- Compile and analyze qualitative and quantitative data for grant reporting
- Prepare and distribute compliance reports to managing attorneys
Proposal & Reporting Support
- Assist in drafting and submitting grant proposals, reports, and related documents
- Gather information from staff and partners for funding applications and reports
- Maintain organized electronic and hard copy grant files
Collaboration & Communication
- Serve as liaison between LASP and external funders and stakeholders
- Coordinate with finance, development, and program teams on grant-related activities
- Maintain internal calendars for reporting, invoicing, and grant cycles
Training & Process Improvement
- Identify compliance issues and help implement solutions
- Develop and deliver staff training on grant and compliance topics
- Recommend system and process improvements to enhance efficiency
General Support
- Assist with research and preparation of proposals and supporting materials
- Manage multiple projects and priorities to meet deadlines
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination)
- Experience with data analysis, reporting, and database systems
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
- Experience extracting and analyzing large data sets
Preferred:
- Project management experience in a nonprofit setting
- Background in finance or accounting, accounting degree, and/or JD
