Legal Aid of Arkansas, a nonprofit public‑interest law firm, seeks full‑time Staff Attorneys to provide civil legal services to low‑income Arkansans. Our work covers housing preservation, domestic violence prevention, economic justice, and consumer protection.
Locations
Positions are available in West Memphis, Texarkana, El Dorado, Fort Smith, and Jonesboro. The role requires frequent work‑related travel and occasional evening or weekend activities for training, meetings, and outreach.
Responsibilities
· Provide direct legal services, including advice, brief assistance, negotiation, and full representation.
· Manage a high‑volume caseload consistent with experience.
· Primary focus on housing law, with one potential Housing/Consumer hybrid position that may include bankruptcy practice.
Qualifications
· Arkansas Bar admission or eligibility for reciprocity.
· Residency in, or willingness to relocate to, Arkansas or a contiguous county.
· Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel for client representation.
· Position is FLSA‑exempt.
Compensation & Benefits
· Starting salary: $72,000, with possible adjustments for rural placement or experience.
· Benefits include health and dental insurance, retirement, bar dues and CLE, travel reimbursement and per diem, student loan repayment assistance, and additional support.
