YOUR DAY AS A RECREATION ASSISTANT
As a Recreation Assistant, your role is to create meaningful relationships with our senior residents through various activities that cater to their unique needs. We understand that each resident has different cultural, social, religious, physical, emotional, and cognitive needs, and we strive to create a safe and comfortable environment for them to engage in.
You work under the guidance of our Recreation Director, who helps you plan, organize, and facilitate daily resident activities. This includes assisting with creating the monthly calendar, charting participation, gathering residents for activities, and facilitating occasional community events. We believe that every senior resident is unique and deserves to be treated with kindness, respect, and dignity. WHAT IS REQUIRED TO BE A RECREATION ASSISTANT?
- Ability to plan, organize, and implement a varied program of social recreation, cultural, and religious activities for a large population of seniors
- Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing with residents, families, and the general public
- Ability to work with fellow associates and others
- Willingness to work with seniors
