Sales and Dispatch Coordinator

Outside sales : Manage existing accounts and grow new business relationships. Prior book of business will be given, with large and medium accounts to service and maintain relationships. Take orders, greet the customer at time of sod delivery, and collect payment as needed. Canvas the assigned area of Atlanta with in-person visits and phone calls to develop new business with contractors and landscape companies. Service the accounts assigned to you and grow the business to increase sales. Meet monthly and quarterly sales goals.
Dispatch Coordinator: Coordinate entire company’s sod orders to 3rd party transportation company, daily. Oversee internal operations of shipping sod from the field to the end user. Create a daily delivery schedule based on customers’ time-sensitive needs and expectations. Keep track of square footage to harvest each day, and relay information to the production / harvesting crew. Maintain assigned limits on amount of sod to schedule for delivery, and notify sales staff when capacity has been reached.
(50% Dispatch, 50% Outside Sales)
Client Base : mostly Landscapers, contractors, commercial and residential as well as Retail consumers.
Logistics and Sales experience welcomed; both not required. Training will be provided.
Great communication skills are a must!
This role will involve multitasking, especially during peak season (April – September). This person will communicate internally with the sales and production staff, and communicate externally with customers and the 3rd party trucking company in a timely manner.
Skills Needed to Be Successful in this Role:
- Phone conversational skills - take phone orders directly from customers
- Problem-solving skills for helping to troubleshoot new and existing customer issues
- Typing skills, basic use of a desktop computer with Excel, Email, and multi-line phone system
- Competent use of company iPhone and iPad to facilitate what you do as a salesperson and freight coordinator
- Basic knowledge of the Atlanta area and surrounding suburbs and counties
- Team player that is Passionate, has Positive Attitude and Strong Sense of Urgency
- Must be a Hard worker!
Daily travel within the Northwest Atlanta area; no overnight travel.
Salary position with seasonal bonus.
