Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the maintenance and repair of instrumentation, automation, and control systems .
- Troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair PLC systems, sensors, and HMI interfaces to optimize operations.
- Lead a team of technicians in performing preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical and control systems.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for equipment controls and automation processes.
- Monitor system performance and recommend improvements for efficiency and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies .
- Work closely with operations and maintenance teams to minimize downtime and improve process automation.
- Train and mentor technicians on control system operations, diagnostics, and repairs.
- Maintain documentation, including wiring diagrams, system configurations, and maintenance logs.
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for system upgrades or troubleshooting when necessary.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience as an Instrumentation & Control Supervisor, Automation Engineer, or similar role in an industrial, manufacturing, or recycling environment .
- Strong knowledge of PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar), SCADA systems, and industrial networking .
- Experience with electrical schematics, motor controls, VFDs, and process instrumentation .
- Ability to diagnose and repair control system failures efficiently.
- Familiarity with data acquisition systems and industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, etc.) .
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, P&IDs, and wiring diagrams .
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment .
- Electrical or controls certifications (e.g., ISA, Journeyman Electrician, or equivalent) are a plus.
