EDM Machinist

Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for an EDM Machinist role in Phoenix, AZ.

Key Responsibilities:

· Operate, set up, and maintain EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) equipment, including wire EDM, sinker EDM, or drill EDM machines.
· Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and part specifications to produce highly precise components.
· Perform accurate in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, and other precision measurement tools.
· Monitor machine performance, adjust parameters, and ensure optimal cutting conditions.
· Troubleshoot machining challenges, electrode wear, and EDM programming issues to minimize downtime.
· Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, tool usage, and inspection results.
· Follow all company safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
· Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and supervisors to meet production goals and ensure part quality.
· Assist with routine maintenance, cleaning, and calibration of EDM equipment.

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in machining or manufacturing preferred.
· 2 years of experience operating EDM equipment (wire, sinker, or both).
· Strong understanding of EDM processes, tooling, electrodes, and machine controls.
· Ability to interpret blueprints, GD&T symbols, and precision specifications.
· Proficiency with precision measurement instruments and inspection procedures.
· Excellent mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
· Strong teamwork, communication, and collaboration abilities.
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
· Familiarity with CNC or CAM programming is a plus.
