By day 60, you will be independently producing recurring reports and variance analyses and have contributed meaningfully to at least one budgeting or planning workstream. By day 90, you are a reliable, productive member of the FP&A team, delivering accurate work on time and beginning to develop your own perspective on partner performance trends.
The 5 Big Things — What Success Looks Like
- Your analysis is accurate and on time: Success means financial reports, models, and variance analyses are delivered on schedule with a level of accuracy that requires minimal review from the FP&A Manager.
- You make the numbers tell a story: Success is analysis that goes beyond the output. You identify what the numbers mean, why they moved, and what should happen next.
- Budgeting and planning run smoothly: Success means you are a dependable contributor to the annual budget and planning cycle. Organized, proactive, and keeping the process on track.
- Reporting gets better over time: Success means you are actively contributing to automation and reporting improvements. Reducing manual work and increasing the speed and reliability of financial data across the platform.
- You grow into greater ownership: Success is an analyst who is visibly more capable and independent at 90 days than at 30, taking on more complex work and building toward a Senior Analyst or Manager trajectory.
