The Team Lead plays a key role in supporting the Foreman in overseeing daily operations of a commercial roofing crew. This position is responsible for helping manage projects from start to finish while maintaining quality, safety, and productivity standards. The Team Lead serves as the acting leader in the Foreman's absence and is a critical step in the leadership pipeline toward a Foreman role.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Foreman with supervision and coordination of a 7-8 person commercial roofing crew
- Help manage roofing projects from mobilization through completion
- Provide hands-on support with tear-offs and installations
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company quality standards
- Demonstrate leadership by taking charge of projects or crews when the foreman is absent
- Monitor crew productivity and maintain steady workflow on the jobsite
- Willingness to help with all aspects of the job to keep it running smoothly
- Assist in mentoring crew members, promoting skill development and accountability
Preferred Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in commercial roofing with: single-ply membrane systems (TPO, EPDM, PVC), Built-up roofing (BUR), and metal roofing systems
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills
- Solid problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to safety and OSHA compliance
- Reliable, accountable and results-driven
- Ability to take charge of a project or crew in the absence of the foreman
