What You’ll Do
- Develop new commercial insurance business through prospecting, networking, referrals, and community involvement.
- Identify prospective clients’ insurance needs and recommend customized commercial insurance and risk management solutions.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with business owners, executives, and decisionmakers.
- Prepare and present insurance proposals while effectively communicating coverage options and value-added services.
- Collaborate with carrier partners and underwriters to negotiate competitive coverage terms and pricing.
- Work closely with Commercial Lines Account Managers to ensure a seamless onboarding and service experience for new clients.
- Conduct annual client reviews to identify evolving business risks, coverage gaps, and cross-selling opportunities.
- Maintain an active sales pipeline and consistently achieve new business production goals.
- Stay informed on commercial insurance products, market conditions, carrier appetites, and industry trends.
- Accurately maintain client activity and sales opportunities within the agency management and CRM systems.
What We’re Looking For
- Active Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance license required.
- Three or more years of commercial insurance sales or business development experience preferred.
- Proven success developing new business and growing a commercial book of business.
- Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products, coverages, and risk management principles.
- Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with a strong entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to work independently.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with Applied Epic or a similar agency management system is preferred.
