Job Description:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic High School ELAR Teacher to join our team at Legacy Preparatory - Mesquite West Campus. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a commitment to student development.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences for students in English Language Arts and Reading.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
- Evaluate students' academic and social growth, record appropriate records and prepare progress reports.
- Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
- Create an effective environment for learning through functional and attractive displays, bulletin boards, and interest centers.
- Implement and follow the school's curriculum and goals.
- Participate in department, school, and parent meetings.
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage students and manage classroom effectively.
- Strong knowledge of ELAR subject matter.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and school staff.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
Certifications:
The candidate must hold a valid Texas teaching certification or Statement of Status of Eligibility (SOE) from an alternative certification program.
