Job Summary:
The Child Nutrition Program Worker assists in the preparation, serving, and cleanup of school meals in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role supports the nutritional well-being of students by maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient food service environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Prepare and serve food items according to standardized recipes and portion guidelines
• Ensure food is cooked and held at appropriate temperatures
• Assist with setting up and breaking down the serving line and dining area
• Operate kitchen equipment (e.g., ovens, warmers, slicers) safely and correctly
• Follow sanitation and safety procedures in food handling, storage, and cleaning
• Wash dishes, utensils, trays, and kitchen equipment
• Record food temperatures and meal counts for compliance and reporting
• Assist with inventory control and stocking of supplies
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and storage area
• Provide courteous and efficient service to students and staff
• Adhere to all Child Nutrition Program policies and USDA regulations

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior food service experience is a plus but not required
• Basic understanding of nutrition and food safety preferred
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to lift 30–50 pounds and stand for extended periods
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Must pass background check and meet health requirements
