$ $19.00 Starting Wages, $25 hourly shift pick up
JOB SUMMARY
The CNA/Personal Care Attendant is responsible for the daily healthcare needs of our residents which include the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of each resident. The CNA/Personal Care Attendants will assure that quality customer service is delivered in a caring and dignified manner. The CNA/Personal Care Attendant will demonstrate a friendly and positive attitude.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist residents with daily healthcare need as defined in the ADL and care plans of the resident. This will include, but not limited to, dressing, grooming, showering, oral and hygiene care, toileting, transferring, escorting, feeding and other personal cares.
- Assist with activities.
- Passing of medications.
- Daily tidies of rooms which includes, but are not limited to, making of the bed, washing dishes, emptying trash and light housekeeping.
- Reposition residents as needed.
- Routine nail care.
- Assist with meal service. Take resident orders, fill drinks, distribute plates and assist in the cleanup.
- Familiar with special diets and ensuring each resident is receiving meals as prescribed by a physician.
- Attend monthly staff meetings and in-services.
- Collect and do laundry. Return and put away laundry.
- Keep Director of Nursing informed of changes in resident conditions.
- Maintain open communications with residents and family members.
- Cleaning of wheelchairs.
- Document in Medication Administration Records and ADL logs.
- Fill out incident reports, shift reports and communication log.
- Inform Director of Nursing and Executive Director of any falls or injuries to residents immediately.
- Assist nursing staff with weights and vitals as needed.
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living which include, but not limited to, watering plants, assisting with phone calls, retrieving mail, emails or other requests made by the resident.
- Available to listen to resident or family concerns.
- Notify Director of Nursing of PRN administration.
- Respond to call lights within 5 minutes.
- Aware of doctor appointments or outings with family as to ensure that resident is ready and presentable.
- Assist the residents that smoke.
- Answering of phones and assistance with visitors, as needed.
- Report abuse/neglect or maltreatment to the supervisor immediately.
- Trained and able to provide tours to potential residents. Collect information and provide to Executive Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- The Certified Nursing Assistant requires a copy of the certificate.
- This role requires strong organizational and communication skills
- Must enjoy working with senior citizens.
- There are physical demands required of this job. Must be able to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk and handle the smell. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
