Position Summary: The Clinical Director is responsible for overall nursing operation in the facility, including ensuring that residents are receiving the proper care they deserve and that the facility is in compliance clinically with the requirements of all governing entities: federal, state and city.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Overall responsible for the whole clinical operations of the facility. Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the nursing service department as well as its programs and activities, in accordance with current rules, regulations and guidelines that govern the Rest Home facility.
• Overall responsible for development and updating, as needed or as directed, written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the nursing service department.
• Responsible for management of nursing personnel, in consultation with the ED/CEO, including making sure that nursing staff follow residents' plan of care, and their adherence to facility policies.
• Ensure that nursing education (orientation, annual education, dementias, EMR, competencies, and others) are being done for nursing personnel, residents, families, contractors and providers as needed.
• Implement protocols required by federal, state, city, as indicated and needed.
• Collaborate and consult with clinical consultants about risk management including all reportable, incident/accident, medical record requests, clinical and reimbursement audits, and surveys.
• Overall responsible for all clinical surveys - annual, re-visit, complaint, mock surveys - happening in the building.
• Responsible for making sure that the environments (clinical and resident areas) are safe for residents and adheres to proper infection control practices. Communicate with Executive Director/CEO and other personnel as needed to ensure compliance.
• Communicate with residents, families, providers, stakeholders, governing bodies, and others about clinical and other matters as assigned.
• Responsible for all documentation needed to be in compliance with all governing regulations.
• Make daily rounds of the unit, with or without physicians, consultants, and other staff, to ensure proper provision of care for residents.
• Attend and/or lead all clinical and other meetings required including QAPI, morning meeting, clinical risk and falls meetings, care plan, family meeting, and others.
• Personal compliance with all licensing and certification requirements necessary for his or her licensure to perform tasks as director, and seeks to improve self through education and training.
• Adhere to employee conduct according to current and future employee handbooks.
• Perform other tasks assigned by the Executive Director/CEO.

Qualifications:

• Current RN or LPN license in Massachusetts
• One (1) to two (2) years' experience
