What are the responsibilities and job description for the Respiratory Care Equipment Technician position at Legacy Health?
You may never meet the patients who receive treatment at Legacy, but you will play an important role in making sure they have the best possible care. Your keen sense of organization will ensure that the right tools and parts are ready for any situation, be it routine or lifesaving emergency. Your ability to clean, process and reassemble ventilators and other respiratory care equipment will impact our ongoing mission of making life better for others.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the cleaning, processing, and reassembly of mechanical ventilators and other respiratory care equipment in the Respiratory Care Department. Coordinates equipment ordering and stocking of supplies on patient care units. Works with Bio-med and Purchasing to coordinate equipment repairs and service on respiratory equipment and monitors.
Education
Qualifications
Minimum of high school graduation or GED equivalent.
Experience
Related experience in hospital work to include basic knowledge of office practices (filing, records, telephone) and equipment repair/servicing preferred.
Skills
Demonstrated knowledge of cleaning and sterilization techniques/procedures for glutaraldehyde and pasturization sterilization/disinfection systems.
Demonstrated understanding of disinfection/sterilization techniques for identified pathogens utilizing written protocols
Good manual dexterity to assemble ventilator circuits and related equipment.
Ability to work independently and self-motivated.
Pay Range
USD $24.60 - USD $35.17 /Hr.
