Position Summary
The Nursing Home Administrator is responsible for the overall operations, leadership, and financial performance of the facility. This role requires strong regulatory knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build a positive culture that supports residents, families, and staff. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, hands-on leader with a passion for long-term care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to all facility departments
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
- Oversee budgeting, financial performance, census development, and cost control
- Lead and support department managers to achieve strong clinical and operational outcomes
- Maintain positive relationships with residents, families, staff, and community partners
- Ensure high-quality resident care and satisfaction
- Guide the facility through surveys, compliance plans, and performance improvement initiatives
- Foster a positive culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and resident-centered care
- Implement policies, procedures, and quality improvement programs
- Oversee staffing levels, recruitment, and retention strategies
Qualifications
- Active Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) license in the state
- Minimum 2–3 years of NHA experience in long-term care or skilled nursing
- Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, survey processes, and reimbursement systems
- Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Experience managing budgets, financials, and operational systems
- Ability to problem-solve, multitask, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
