What are the responsibilities and job description for the Funeral Director position at Legacy Funeral Group?
Combest Family Funeral Homes is searching for a compassionate and creative Funeral Director/Embalmer who will deliver the highest level of customer service to the families we serve. This individual will be responsible for caring for the deceased in a respectful manner while performing tasks related to preparing the decedent for the final celebration of life with their loved ones.
Essential Functions and Competencies
· Meets with client families to listen, educate, and arrange personalized funeral services, and ensures their experience with the business is of the highest quality
· Prepares and embalms decedents for interment, cremation, or other disposition in conformity with legal requirements
· Contributes to the overall efficiency of the location by maintaining open and effective communication and maintaining accurate and timely client files
· Acts to improve market share through participation in community events, groups, and/or organizations, and other community relationships as assigned by your supervisor
· Carries out other projects/duties as assigned
· Works on-call/first call, in rotation as assigned
· Ensures proper paperwork, including permits and certificates, is completed in a timely manner and in accordance with relevant laws and regulations
· Conducts and attends funeral services regularly
· Lead all post-service follow-up as needed
· Other duties as needed or assigned
Required Education and Experience
· Funeral Director and Embalmers licenses required
· 2 years of funeral industry experience
·Knowledge of current federal, state, and local regulations related to the funeral industry
