WHO YOU ARE
As the Vice President/Controller of our franchising organization, you will be responsible for managing and supervising all financial activities, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and internal controls. You will work closely with the executive team and franchisees to ensure the financial health and success of the company.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Management: Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures to support the overall business goals and objectives of the franchisor.
Oversee financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes.
- Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Conduct regular financial reviews with franchisees to assess their financial performance and offer guidance for achieving financial targets.
Accounting and Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Maintain the general ledger and oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Implement and maintain a strong internal control framework to safeguard assets and mitigate financial risks.
- Coordinate with external auditors for the completion of annual audits and regulatory compliance.
Franchisee Support: Assist franchisees in understanding and interpreting financial reports and statements.
- Provide financial guidance and support to franchisees, helping them optimize their financial performance and profitability.
- Conduct financial analysis to assess franchisee viability, evaluate expansion opportunities, and make informed business decisions.
Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor the accounting/finance team, providing guidance and support in their day-to-day activities.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment, promoting continuous learning and development.
- Ensure adherence to accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development of the company's overall strategic plans and objectives.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA designation is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience in financial management and accounting, preferably within a franchising or multi-unit retail environment.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with the ability to inspire and manage a team effectively.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Proficient in financial modeling and analysis, as well as financial software and systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and franchisees.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $150,000.00 - $225,000.00 per year
