We’re searching for compassionate, level-headed, and reliable individuals to help support safe, positive connections between children and their families. You won’t just be supervising visits—you’ll be helping rebuild relationships, create safe spaces, and support families through some of their toughest moments.
Duties
What You’ll Be Doing
- Be the calm, steady presence during visits between children and their parents or guardians
- Help create a safe, structured, and supportive environment for everyone involved
- Step in with confidence and care if situations become challenging (we’ll train you!)
- Take clear, thoughtful notes about each visit—your observations really matter
- Encourage positive, healthy interactions between parents and children
- Navigate tough moments with professionalism, empathy, and good judgment
- Offer support and reassurance to kids and families when they need it most
- Safely transport children to and from visits using your own reliable vehicle
- Requirements
- What You Bring to the Table
- Experience working with kids, families, or individuals with diverse needs
- A strong understanding (or willingness to learn) about child welfare and family dynamics
- The ability to stay calm under pressure and handle conflict with confidence
- Great communication skills—you know how to connect with people from all walks of life
- Discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment in sensitive situations
- A patient, compassionate mindset (this work can be challenging, but incredibly rewarding)
✅ The Must-Haves
- 21 years or older
- At least 12 months of paid or volunteer experience working with children (must be on your resume)
- A reliable personal vehicle (car seats provided)
- Current car insurance ability to provide a 3-year driving abstract
- Ability to pass a DCYF background check
