Job Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of engineers, designers, and project managers.
- Mentor and develop staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Allocate resources effectively and manage staff workloads to meet project deadlines.
Project Oversight:
- Oversee all phases of land development projects including planning, design, permitting, and construction.
- Ensure the successful execution of projects within scope, schedule, and budget.
- Review and approve civil engineering designs, site plans, grading, stormwater management, and utility layouts.
Client & Stakeholder Relations:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, municipalities, and regulatory agencies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate project approvals and collaborations.
- Manage client expectations and deliver high-quality services.
Technical Expertise:
- Provide technical oversight and expertise in land development, including site planning, stormwater management, roadway design, utilities, and environmental compliance.
- Stay updated on industry standards, regulatory changes, and best practices.
- Conduct technical reviews and ensure that all project designs meet required codes, standards, and regulations.
Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, expanding the land development portfolio.
- Participate in proposal preparation, contract negotiations, and presentations to secure new projects.
- Develop strategic partnerships and collaborate with other departments to support overall company growth.
Financial Management:
- Manage project budgets and financial performance, ensuring profitability and cost control.
- Provide financial reporting and forecasts to senior leadership.
- Approve project expenditures and manage billing to ensure timely invoicing and payment collection.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on land development projects.
- Proven track record in project management and leadership roles, managing large and complex projects.
- Strong understanding of local, state, and federal regulations related to land development and zoning.
- Excellent leadership and team-building skills.
- Strong technical expertise in civil engineering principles and land development design.
- Proficient in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant tools.
- Outstanding communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience providing excellent customer service
- Team player with great interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to lift and/or move 50 pounds.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time in an office environment.
- Ability to maintain a valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
- Attention to detail and quality, while adhering to all safety requirements.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills required.
- Use of company provided equipment and working knowledge of MS Office programs.
