Fertilizer Technician/Class A CDL Driver - Alliance, Nebraska
Legacy Coop's agronomy division is looking for a Fertilizer Technician with a valid Class A CDL to join our team in Alliance, Nebraska. The fertilizer technician is responsible for safely transporting bulk fertilizer materials to designated locations, assisting with the success of the Agronomy Team, and adhering to all transportation regulations. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of professionalism. Responsibilities
- Operate a commercial truck to transport bulk fertilizer materials to various locations.
- Safely load and unload fertilizer products using appropriate equipment and following established procedures.
- Operate forklift to assist in loading and unloading products.
- Perform general maintenance on fertilizer equipment and complete improvements needed on fertilizer facilities.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and hours of service in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Follows all governmental and safety regulations concerning the handling of fertilizer and agricultural chemicals.
- Assist with taking inventory, stocking equipment parts and general housekeeping in shop, warehouse and plant facilities.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, both inside the truck cab and in the cargo area.
- Assist customers with loading chemical fertilizer, etc.
- All other duties assigned by division, location, or operations manager
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements (e.g., tanker endorsement) required.
- Proven experience operating commercial vehicles, preferably in the transportation of bulk materials.
- Clean driving record with no serious violations or accidents in the past three years.
- Knowledge of applicable transportation laws, regulations, and safety standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Physical stamina and strength to lift and move heavy materials (up to 50 pounds), climb ladders, and perform other physically demanding tasks as needed.
- Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) certification may be required, depending on the nature of the materials transported.
