Substance Abuse Counselor

This is a Temp-to-Hire opportunity with consistent hours, supportive leadership, and meaningful clinical work.As a Substance Abuse Counselor, you will provide individual therapy, group counseling, assessments, crisis intervention, and ongoing support for adults in recovery. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure clients receive complete, compassionate care.What You Will DoProvide individual and group substance use counselingFacilitate treatment using CBT, DBT, MI, Seeking Safety and other evidence-based approachesConduct assessments such as GAD-7, PHQ-9, C-SSRS, AUDIT-C, DAST-10Deliver crisis intervention and develop safety plansCreate and maintain treatment plans and progress notesCoordinate care with mental health providers, medical staff, and case managersSupport clients with resources, education, and recovery toolsParticipate in required trainings and team meetingsQualifications2 years experience working with substance use disorders or addiction recoveryExperience with trauma, co-occurring disorders, LGBTQ clients, and diverse populationsStrong communication, documentation, and counseling skillsKnowledge of addiction, recovery, and family systemsAbility to maintain ethical and confidential standardsPreferred (Not Required):CADC-I, CADC-II, CADC-III, RADT, CCAPP, CAADE, CADTPAMFT, ACSW, APCC or licensed clinicians (LMFT, LCSW, LPCC)MAT program experienceScheduleFull Time, Monday–FridayRegular shift: 8:45 AM – 5:30 PMSome evening work as neededTravel required locally (about 50 percent)Why Candidates Love This RoleStable, well-known organization with long-term growthMission-driven work with real community impactStrong team culture and supportive leadershipOpportunity to transition to permanent employmentApply TodayIf you are a passionate counselor who enjoys trauma-informed, client-centered work, we want to meet you.Apply now through Legacy Career Solutions.Company DescriptionAt Legacy Career Solutions, we are more than a staffing agency.
