Responsibilities
- Analyze production costs and prepare detailed cost reports.
- Maintain and reconcile cost accounting systems, including standard cost updates.
- Monitor manufacturing variances and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes with cost analysis.
- Prepare month-end journal entries for inventory and cost adjustments.
- Conduct periodic inventory audits and assist with inventory valuation.
- Collaborate with operations and purchasing to ensure accurate cost tracking.
- Assist in developing cost models and financial metrics for management reporting.
- Prepare and present cost reports and findings to management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., ERP systems).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate financial data effectively to non-financial team members.
- Strong time management and multitasking abilities.
- Knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting or manufacturing accounting is preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite) preferred.
- CPA or CMA certification a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- May occasionally be required to walk through production areas or warehouses.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
Salary : $100,000 - $130,000
