Role Description The Building Materials Delivery Specialist is a full-time position based in Arthur, IL. This role is responsible for safely loading, transporting, and unloading building materials to customer locations and job sites, ensuring orders are accurate, secure, and delivered on schedule. Day-to-day tasks include inspecting vehicles, performing basic maintenance checks, verifying delivery documentation, and following all safety and traffic regulations. The specialist will interact with customers on-site, provide courteous service, address basic delivery questions, and coordinate with the warehouse and sales teams to resolve any delivery issues. The role may also assist with organizing inventory, maintaining a clean and safe yard and loading area, and supporting other operational tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with contractors, homeowners, and team members.
- Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills, including working effectively with warehouse, office, and sales staff.
- Ability to support integration of delivery schedules and inventory processes by following procedures and coordinating with internal teams.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience driving trucks or delivery vehicles preferred (CDL a plus, if required by vehicle class).
- Comfort with physical work, including lifting and moving building materials safely and operating material-handling equipment (such as forklifts or pallet jacks), with appropriate training.
- Basic knowledge of building materials (lumber, roofing, siding, hardware) or willingness to learn on the job.
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused, with attention to detail in documentation and order accuracy.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; prior experience in construction supply, warehouse, or delivery roles is beneficial.
